Help setting up send/return effects on iPad with Logic X?

$

I've tried this a number of times with Logic X - I create a send return to iPad via IConnectivity2+ audio channels using an aggregate audio device and Logic's I/O plugin. This has happened with every FX processing app on iOS that I have (and that's a lot). Signal gets through to the fx processing app, audio is routed back to Logic effected as expected for a second or two... But then the apps input appears to get stuck and its output seems to get stuck in a loop. I would guess a buffer issue with iconnectmidi? I'm guessing that it's only a portion of the input audio that's ends up repeating? Ive also tried various audio settings - 44.1kHz/48khz 24-bit/16-bit. The aggregate audio device I use works fine for playback of audio from iPad apps- the issue is entirely in the context of using it as a virtual external effects unit via send/returns. Sometimes the iconnectmidi2+ crashes my iPad doing this and I can't figure out why. I've seen many a tutorial using iPad with iconnectmidi using it as an external effects processor, but only with Ableton, never with Logic. Can someone advise me on this or write a blog post about how to do this? I've had this issue since day 1 :(

Here's a link to a quick recording of what the effect stutter sounds like when reverb is being processed. The input was not looped - it was a simple hit. The 'stutter' which you can hear (an audio portion around 500ms long) seems to be the buffer issue which I'm guessing is the issue).

Please take a look and some advice would be great- even a link to a logic X tutorial that is confirmed working. The issue happens using an iPad Air 2 or iPad 3. I have not yet tried any iPhones.

Thanks!

iPad app (nodebeat) to trigger midi instrument in ableton via iConnectMidi2+

Hi Everyone,

I'm really quite new to the routing of midi from my iPad into ableton via the iConnectMidi2 and I really need some help.

I've given it a really good try but just can seem to get it going.

I've added an aggregate device on my Mac, I've select audio inputs and outputs in ableton preferences, also tried different settings in the midi preference of ableton, and tried different configurations on midi and audio tracks in ableton still with no luck :(

Basically all i want to do is use the app from the iPad to send midi to and instrument in ableton so I can manipulate the sound from the iPad and record it in ableton depending on what soft synth I have on the midi track.

I'm not sure if I need to change any settings in the iconfig app but I would really appreciate if someone could step me through this as this is the sole reason I bought an iconnectmidi2+.

Your help is greatly appreciated!

Does this box work with Avid Pro Tools First? I saw that there is an ASIO for All universal driver for Windows (v2.13) that can be used with this box.

Thanks.

Transferring DRM Music

So it's been a rough weekend of trying to find a way of getting songs from iTunes on my Mac to my iPad Air 2. I'm trying to get songs into my iPad apps for sampling and such but I keep getting that DRM copyright error and can't do it. I went to a store to see if I could find anything that may help with this and I picked up the iconnectmidi2. Is this what I need to accomplish this? How? Thanks in advance.

Linux?

Does anyone here can share / have had any experience in using iConnectMIDI2+ with Linux? Specifically,

- MIDI between iOS devices and Linux computers - does it work?
- Audio between iOS devices and Linux computers - does it work?

I intend to buy one, and I use a Linux computer for my musical nuissances.. And would love if any good soul that has one of these could share some light (or perhaps test and give us some feedback?)

Dev team? Any thoughts?

Sorry for bothering you and thanks for a possible reply.

Hello
I know there is a blog about this which confused me even more.!!!
I m using the iconnectmidi2+ , Ableton , Korg Electribe 2s , Boss RC300 . I m using the RC300 as my interface and I need to run audio from the Electribe into Ableton effects for live application ..is that possible??
what keeps happening to me is the audio signal is running though ableton either way creating a phasing effect .
thank you

USB audio pass through

A cheeky question perhaps, but I hope you can answer this one. I don't want to use a PC for music (and I don't have a Mac). However i'd like to be able to get audio from the USB into the analogue domain without using the headphone jack (the useless official iPad case doesn't fit standard headphone jacks, how useless is that?). So the question i'm asking is if it's possible to pass audio via USB to a device other than a computer? That device could be a wifi audio streamer, usb headphones, anything but a computer.

thanks

Will this MIDI set up work?

Hi all,

I am planning to buy an Iconnect 2+ without the power adapter.

What I want to achieve is:
1) to connect 2 midi keyboards through the standard MIDI IN connections.
2)be able to route to the two MIDI OUTS with the MIDI IN information I want ( e.g. midi thru from the first MIDI In and a merger of Midi In 1&2 to Midi Out 2)
3)I would also connect and Ipad air 2 to USB device Port 1. I would in USB device port 2 connect to a wall charger from Ipad. Will this set up charge the Ipad or I need by force to buy the power adapter from Iconnect?
4)I would like to record the sounds coming from the Ipad through USB to a computer, how this would work?

Thanks

Connection issue

Hi,

I have a iConnectMIDI2+, a synth with a 5-pin MIDI in socket, and a MIDI controller keyboard with a USB B connector socket. Is it possible to use the iConnect as a means of connecting the controller keyboard to the synth? It's not possible for me to connect the keyboard to the synth without a USB-to-MIDI converter gizmo, and I was trying to give the Iconnect 2 a new job as I am upgrading to an iConnect 4.

Hopefully you can understand my question! :-)
Thanks, Ben

Need help connecting iConnectMIDI2 to my mac and Symphony64 audio card and Digital Performer 8

I just picked up an iConnectMIDI2 in hopes to incorporate my iPad into my external MIDI rig. I'm not sure how to set up the iConnectMIDI2 since I'm not using it as my only interface for audio/midi. None of the installation instructions seem to apply my in case since I already have an existing interface in place. All I need it for is to interface my iPad mini to my already existing DAW, Digital Performer 8, which I already use an Apogee Symphony 64 card for audio. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks!
Rod

Is the latest Mac OS update causing issues?

Not long after updating a few days ago to 10.11.5 the audio from my iPad has been very jittery.. I'm using a Motu 828 as an aggregate with an iConnect MIDI2 without any issues.. I've also been trying out the best way to midi sync all my apps with an MPC1000 and MicroKorg.
I'd rather use standalone V.I. on my laptop then a DAW using an app called Hosting AU in 32bit mode. It's more stable then AU Lab and is perfect for my set-up... I've also been experimenting with master clocks on my iPad including one that uses Ableton Link..
So anyone of those things could have initiated this problem... I'm suspecting the update as the problem but haven't ruled out the 32bit instance of Hosting AU or Ableton's link enabled iPad apps... The latency is set at 256 for everything with Motu as clock... I've done all the usual restarts and maintenance that improve the audio but that only lasts a few minutes until the glitches return..
Is anyone else having issues with the update? or with Ableton link enabled? Or maybe this happens when the host is set at 32bit?
Thanks

I am really lost but am resisting returning the unit. All I want to do is:
1) send Arturia iSEM MIDI from Tablet (no external keyboard) to PC/DAW track
2) send the edited MIDI to Tablet and iSEM
3) send that audio to DAW.
I do not understand a bit of the routing.
Blues for sure!

question about DIN midi routing

Putting iOS devices aside for a second, I'm just trying to determine how best to hook up external MIDI devices to iCM2+.

I have a Axiom Pro midi controller (USB and midi in/out); ASR-10 (midi in/out/thru); Roland SPD-20 (midi in/out); couple of Volca box (midi in only).

How far can I get with cabling all this gear thru the ICM2+?

Do I need other MIDI interfaces such as (MOTU Micro Xpress) to handle routing everything? Should I use the Axiom as a controller for Logic Pro via USB and don't loop it thru the ICM2+, or does it make sense to try and use it in the ICM2+ chain to control the other MIDI gear and treat them more as sound-modules-only for sequencing from Logic Pro X?

Appreciate any suggestions!

2nd iConnectMIDI2+ does not always recognize connected MIDI devices

New to the forums. This is my second iConnectMIDI2+. I experienced this issue with the first one I had and thought it was defective. Sometimes the iCM2 does not recognize MIDI devices on one of the two ports. Sometimes it's DIN1 and sometimes it's DIN2. If I switch cables around, I can confirm that both keyboards are working and both sets of cables are working as well. They both will work with whichever DIN is operable. I've updated the firmware, turned off the keyboards, reset the iCM2, experimented with powering on the devices in different order. No luck. Is there anything I have missed here? I have high quality MIDI cables and fairly standard gear (M-Audio, Alesis, and Yamaha). Any help or troubleshooting ideas are welcome!

Midi2+connected to iPad 2 causes blinking battery icon and blinking Midi 1 light

Midi2+ firmware 1.08- iPad os 9.3.2
When connecting the 30 pin audio -midi cable to an iPad 2 to midi 1 on Midi2+, the battery icon w/ lightning bolt flash on and off. The iPad does not charge, and the audio through channels are not recognized. This happens whether the midi2+ is attached to the computer or not. The Midi2+ is being powered by the optional power supply. All midi connections work properly. I've used the Midi2+ for midi routing only since purchasing, and just now have a need for the audio through.
Has anyone else had this issue? I did file a support ticket last week, but have yet to receive an answer.
